Doubling and electrification of railway lines Karnobat – Sindel, section “Struya – Asparuhovo”

The site is a part of European Transport Corridor № 8 (Varna – Ferryboat complex Varna-West, railway station Sindel – railway station Karnobat; Sofia; railway station Gyueshevo). Investments are provided by National Company Bulgarian State Railways, using the funds granted by the State Agency National Road System and the national investment programme of the Council of Ministers of Republic of Bulgaria.

During the last five years the company worked intensely in the section railway station Tranak – railway station Asparuhovo and mainly on three railway bridge facilities with the following characteristics:
- total length: Trestle № 1 – 240 m (8 bridge openings x 30 m), Trestle № 2 - 210 m (7 bridge openings x 30 m) and Trestle № 3 – 420 m (14 bridge openings x 30 m);
- height of bridge openings: from 30 to 45 m;
- founding: 32 monolithic foundations with size 14/11 m and height from 4 m to 11 m, with flat or pilot founding (100 in-situ piles 40/40/1200 cm for each foundations);
- pillars – 4 pcs at a step, sandwich type – each consisting of two pillars and one monolithic between them, separately with size 50/100 cm and height from 20 m to 31 m) – total 128 pcs;
- in-situ cast longitudinal girders with dimensions 6/10/2 m – total 32 pcs;
- main reinforced concrete beams with dimensions 20/200/27500 cm – total 460 pcs, cast on 4 polygons of the Equipment and machines base of Transstroy-Varna AD;
- monolithic reinforced concrete slab - 1050 cm width, 20 cm thickness and continuous temperature sections up to 240 m.
Transstroy-Varna AD is the main contractor and designer of the three trestles.
